About This Blog

My name is John Rescigno. I am a student at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, and an avid League of Legends player. For those of you readers who do not play or understand League of Legends, it is a realtime, session-based strategy game. You choose a champion/character to play as, and you and your teammates battle against your opponents.

The purpose of this blog is to help people learn more about the game and champions that they may or may not know about/play. My job is going to be to play these champions and explain the mechanics involved. I.E. I'm going to test out the champion for you and give you tips on items to build, how to level your skills, and even some tricks that not everyone knows.

I look at this as an opportunity for me to improve my gameplay as well as help others to improve theirs. I am all for reader interaction, and I am happy to answer any and all questions asked as they pertain to the game and my content.

First Excursion

Pool Party Lee Sin

Last night I bought Lee Sin, a jungler, and the Pool Party skin. I know that I main mid, but I jungle as well. not well, but still. Lee is a powerful early game jungler with great clear time and sustain thanks to Iron Will, which grants lifesteal and spellvamp. Our team consisted of a Nasus vs Yasuo top lane with me in the jungle against Udyr, an Akali vs Diana mid, and Ashe plus Malphite vs Quinn and Blitzcrank.

I started with a 4 man red buff because I was afraid of the invade coming from Udyr. This was because of the Blitzcrank and his insane invade potential. The leash went smoothly and I got level 2 off of it. I ganked mid lane first after I hit lvl 3 and had both buffs. No kill, but I managed to save Akali. I proceeded bot to help ashe and malphite out, but malphite had died before I got there, so I could only cover the lane.

Malphite was an interesting person for this game. He wanted to go mid, but Akali called it in champion select before him. He continuously insulted Ashe for not doing very well, and insisted that he wasn't stupid. He soon abandoned Ashe and started roaming. I thought for sure this would cost us a lot, but we only lost the bot outer turret until the late game.

My initial impression of Lee Sin was that he was a very strong jungler who can snowball hard. I tried my best to do that, and I was right. for runes and masteries I used 2 Lifesteal Quints and an AD quint. flat AD reds, armor yellows, and MR blues. Masteries were 21/9/0.

Final build was
Sightstone: allowed for wall jumping with my W
Ravenous Hydra: insane amounts of waveclear and much-needed lifesteal
Ninja Tabi enchanted with Homeguard: armor and movement speed
Spirit of the Elder Lizard: I built Damage rather than tank because we had a Nasus and Malphite
Sunfire Cape: Because they had a Yasuo who liked to get up in my face, I needed some armor, but I also wanted something to help me clear the jungle and do damage over time in teamfights.
Black Cleaver: Because they were afraid of me and our Nasus, three people on the enemy team built armor. Black Cleaver is a great choice for any AD champion who wants to ignore their armor. The passive personal armor pen is great, but what really helped my team was the armor shred that it gave.

Of course, I made a few mistakes. They left bot lane almost undefended, so Ashe and I decided to split push. we took down an easy inhibitor and moved to the nexus turrets. we got one down before they recalled, but no notification from our team cost us our lives. Blitzcrank was able to sit in his fountain and pull me with his Q onto the platform, so the fountain killed me. We continued this split push, but the second time, Ashe got caught because of her lack of mobility. I, however, was able to jump a wall with the ward+W combo.

I ended the game 10/4/11, a very good record for a carry jungler like lee sin, especially when you have to carry your team. I had the most gold in the game with 15.8k, and I ended with 197 cs, or creepscore. 96 of this was from jungle creeps, while the rest was thanks to my waveclear with the hydra.
